This week, we'll talk about what this blog is about and meet our main contributors!
Imploding Sixes is a gaming blog written by recovering adults. We're a group of gamers that have spent the last several years spending entirely too little time being the gigantic nerds we are, and have vowed to spend more time having fun together, and occasionally write about the geeky stuff we do.
We have a pretty broad range of nerd interests, from board games to miniature wargames and modeling, to RPGs and video games. We'll talk about whatever stuff we're working on from week to week here, presenting game reviews, modeling tutorials, and nerd culture observations galore.

Bio: forcedperfect has been geeking out since he first looked over a classmate's shoulder in seventh grade and saw a picture of a space marine getting shot all to hell in the original Rogue Trader version of Warhammer 40,000. Raised on a steady diet of sci fi and kung-fu movies (thanks, pop), it was only a matter of time before he got hooked on painting toy soldiers and building worlds for them to kill each other in.
What he does here: Mostly rant, proclaim love for all things nerdy, and write painting and terrain tutorials. He's not going to win any awards for either (well, he HAS, but nothing all that impressive), but he can help you get stuff on the table fast and make it look ok.

Bio: Photovore09 grew up in a small town in northern Iowa and got into Dungeons and Dragons around 9 years of age. Was painting miniatures in the mid to late teens. Eventually found games workshop's Necromunda. Life changed after college and he moved to Minnesota, Took a long break from fantasy models and miniatures pursuing interests in graphic design, photofinishing, Djing, raving, massage therapy and electronic music production. The time is right to return..
What he does here: build awesome stuff and paint things.

Main nerd interests: Board games (Space Hulk, Mansions of Madness, Arkham Horror, Dwarf King's Hold), Full Thrust (FSE), Firestorm Armada (Terran), Starmada: Fleet Ops (Colonial Navy), Kings of War (Dwarves), Video games (FFX, FFXII, Lost Odyssey, Dark Cloud II, Dragon Age series, Skyrim, Portal, Dark Fall series, In Memoriam/ Missing, Scratches, Stronghold, Alice), Model painting (Spaceships, GW, mantic, and reaper dwarves).
Bio: I've always been a nerd. The first movie I ever saw in a theater was Star Trek IV, and my family planned outings based on the TV schedule for Star Trek: TNG. When I discovered Doctor Who reruns on PBS at the age of 8, that clinched it. My love of sci-fi developed into a love of both sci-fi and fantasy after reading stories by J.R.R. Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, and many others.
Since I grew up to become a librarian, I suppose it makes sense that I like to read. I enjoy playing games and painting, but I also like movies, novels, and short stories with sci-fi and/or fantasy themes. As for the games, I prefer ones that make me think. I like stepping into the character's shoes and getting absorbed in the story.
What she does here: I'm interested in writing about and talking with others about positive and negative aspects of different games, the experience of being a female nerd (or nerd girl), the social difficulties of choosing to express or hide one's nerdiness around more "normal" coworkers, and strategies for fitting in enough time for gaming despite a FT job and other responsibilities.
::WHAT'S ON DECK::
Right now, the team is working on getting their big Necromunda campaign together. The first few blog posts will likely be about that, on subjects ranging from converting ganger models all the way up to building an entire underhive from scratch! But here are a few projects we'll be getting to as time allows:
